I met Melanie and Brady through Flytographer, and their session was the last one I photographed for the platform in Lima before moving to Amsterdam.

One of my most important recommendations for photographers working with international visitors is simple: know your city.

Learn the history behind its landmarks, understand what makes each neighborhood distinctive, and collect a few interesting stories to share along the way. This turns a photo session into more than a collection of beautiful images. An ordinary wall, street, or square becomes part of the couple’s experience and memories of the destination.

For travelers, I recommend scheduling a photo session near the beginning of a trip. Besides receiving photographs in some of the city’s most memorable locations, you can also become familiar with the area and receive useful local recommendations for the rest of your stay.

Melanie and Brady’s session became part photo experience and part introduction to Lima. This is what Melanie shared afterward:
