Family

April takes me between Amsterdam’s historic streets and the colourful tulip fields. On this particular day, I photographed a family exploring the beautiful Jordaan district.

When I first visited Amsterdam as a tourist, many of its canal houses looked similar to me. Over time, as I learned more about the city’s architecture and history, I began to notice the details that give every neighbourhood its own character. I now love sharing those stories with the couples and families I photograph.

For this family photo session, we walked through the Jordaan and along a few neighbouring streets. The route extends slightly beyond the official boundaries of the district, allowing us to create a relaxed experience with a greater variety of backgrounds within a short walking distance.

Although this was a short session, we captured the family’s connection, the beauty of Amsterdam and the excitement of discovering the city together.
