Vacation Photography

This family arrived convinced they weren't photogenic. It's something I hear surprisingly often. The truth is, I don't believe being photogenic is something you're born with. Most people simply aren't used to having a camera pointed at them. My role isn't to ask you to pose perfectly; it's to create small moments where you naturally interact with the people you love.

That doesn't mean I invent moments or ask families to pretend. My role is to create the right environment and gently guide the experience so those moments can happen naturally. A little direction goes a long way, helping everyone feel comfortable while staying true to who they are. This is especially important during a vacation photo session. Unlike a wedding, where the day unfolds on its own, or a branding session, where we can spend hours refining every detail, a vacation session is about making the most of limited time. We want to explore the city, capture a variety of locations, and create genuine memories along the way. That means I need to be proactive, guiding the session without making it feel directed.

Instead of trying to make everyone fit the same pose, we let each of them be themselves. We walked, played, talked and created little moments together. That's where the photographs came from.

Every time a family allows themselves to simply enjoy being together, those natural moments unfold right in front of the camera. The area they chose was perfect for that, surrounded by canals, boats, and quiet little streets that invited them to walk, explore, and interact naturally. Families who genuinely enjoy discovering a new place together rarely need to think about the camera. They create memories, and the photographs follow.
