Keukenhof Gardens: Spring Colors and Photography Guide

I started this post trying to create color palettes from the cities I’ve photographed in the Netherlands, but then I realized how many images I have from Keukenhof Gardens that I’ve never shared.

Keukenhof has so many spaces, colors, and light moods that make it one of the most inspiring places to photograph during spring. What makes it truly special is how it changes every year. The flower designs, the paths, and even the shades you see are never the same. That’s part of its magic; Keukenhof always feels new.

Every visit offers something different. You notice how the gardens evolve, how visitors adapt their outfits through the changing weather, and how light transforms every corner throughout the season. It’s one of those places that always reminds you to slow down and simply look around.

Here are twenty photographs taken across the season, from the first day to the very last. I hope they give you a sense of how nature paints in layers, week after week, creating something completely new each time.

If you’re planning your visit for next spring, remember that Keukenhof opens from mid-March to mid-May, and every visit feels like the first time.

Until we meet in Amsterdam, or perhaps at Keukenhof Gardens.
