Thinking about what’s coming up in The Netherlands feels like stepping into a dream. Here are four favorite events happening at the same time of tulip season making your visit on this time even more special:
🌿 Oyster Picking – Happening now until the end of April. You can collect up to 10kg of fresh oysters in selected areas. I love doing this in April when the weather is just right.
🌸 Cherry Blossoms in Amsterdamse Bos – Cherry trees bloom all over The Netherlands, but the magical tunnel of blossoms at Amsterdamse Bos is something else! This happens usually from mid- March to first week of April, but remember flower blooming depends on weather.
🧀 Alkmaar Cheese Market – Kicking off on the last Friday of March, and then happening every week, this tradition fills the town with visitors and, of course, lots of Dutch cheese. A must-see for history and food lovers.
🎉 King’s Day – The biggest street party of the year! It’s usually on April 27th, birthday of our King, unless it falls on a Sunday, so in 2025, it’ll be on April 26th. Expect a sea of orange, music, and celebrations everywhere!
