A Summer Boat Day in Leiden

This one didn’t start with a booking. I met with friends, we got on a boat, and spent a summer afternoon on the water in Leiden.


Leiden has a different rhythm. The canals are quieter, the bridges lower, and the city feels calm and lived-in. Once on the boat, time slows down. We navigated the canals, talked, laughed, and let the day unfold without a plan.


The light was soft, the water steady, and the city revealed itself from a perspective you only get when you’re moving at this pace. No rush, no schedule, just being present.


Leiden is perfect for this kind of experience. Easy boat routes, beautiful surroundings, and a feeling that invites you to stay a little longer.
