Engagement proposal in Amsterdam East - A local's choice

After the proposal, we walked through the surrounding areas of Oosterpark. Corners that don’t often appear in photographs. Paths and views that feel familiar to locals, but almost invisible online. That is something I love about sessions like this.

When a place means something to you, it shows. The images feel grounded. Real. They don’t need to explain where they were taken. The story is already there. You don’t need a famous backdrop to create a powerful memory.

Sometimes the best place to propose is:

-where you walk on weekends

- where you clear your head after work

- where your routines live

These places already hold meaning. The proposal simply adds another layer.

For locals, choosing a familiar place often makes the moment feel calmer and more personal. And for me, as a photographer, it creates images that are quietly unique.
