A Romantic Dance Through Amsterdam's Canal Belt: Anniversary Photo Session

On a crisp March evening in Amsterdam, I had the pleasure of capturing a truly unique couple’s anniversary photo session. This wasn't just a romantic shoot, it was a joyful celebration of love, movement, and the city itself.

This lovely couple met on the dance floor and have been swing dancing together ever since, even participating in competitions. So when they reached out to me for an anniversary session, they had a clear vision: fun, a little romance, and a touch of dance magic. And that’s exactly what we created together.


A Golden Hour Stroll Through Amsterdam’s West Canal Belt


Starting at 5:30 PM on March 19th, we wandered through one of the most charming parts of the city, the western side of the Canal Belt. With its narrow cobblestone streets, elegant architecture, and peaceful local vibe, this area is perfect for couples looking for a relaxed and picturesque setting.

One of the spontaneous highlights? We stumbled across a neighborhood book exchange shelf, a sweet, local detail that added a personal and cozy touch to the session. The couple picked a few books to browse, creating candid, storytelling moments that reflected their playful connection.


A Session Full of Energy and Intimacy


What made this session truly stand out was the dynamic blend of fun and intimacy. The couple danced together in quiet corners of the city, struck a few swing-inspired poses, and took some solo shots as well, highlighting both their individual personalities and the love that ties them together.


Even in just 30 minutes, we captured 30 final images full of genuine smiles, soft glances, and timeless movement. As they later shared:
