Timing matters more than people expect, especially during tulip season.
Recently, I experienced a situation that reflects something I often explain to clients, and I think it’s helpful to share it clearly.
During tulip season, days are full. It is very common to have more than one session per day, sometimes in different locations. This means that once a session time is reserved, it cannot easily be moved or extended.
When I arrive for your session, I am already on location, ready to photograph, and waiting at the agreed meeting point.
Your session starts at the scheduled time, not at your arrival time. If you arrive late, we will photograph the remaining time only. For example, if your session is from 8:30 to 9:30 and you arrive at 9:00, we will have 30 minutes together.
If you arrive at the end of the session, the session is considered completed, as the full time was reserved and I remained available for you during that time.
I understand that delays can happen, especially when traveling. The tulip region is not always easy to reach, and logistics can be more complex than expected.
For that reason, flexibility is always possible when there is communication. If you need to adjust your time, change the location, or even move the session to another day, most things can be arranged as long as I know before the session starts.
This week, for example, a session was rescheduled because a child was not feeling well. We moved it to another day, and everything worked perfectly.
If you arrive late but still want to have a full session, there is sometimes the option to extend the time. This depends on the schedule for that day and is considered an additional booking of time.
If I do not receive any communication, I will remain at the meeting point for the full duration of the session. In that case, the session is considered a no-show, and refunds do not apply, as the time was reserved and I was present and available.
When planning your session, especially in the tulip region, I always recommend allowing extra time for transportation. Arriving early creates a much calmer start and a better overall experience.
My goal is always to create a relaxed and enjoyable session for you. Clear communication helps make that possible.
