When Travel Brings Everyone Together

Some trips have a single purpose, and others become a combination of many things at once. This visit to Amsterdam brought together family time, personal memories, and professional goals. During the session, we created photographs with a husband and wife, individual portraits, photographs between sisters, and images that could also be used professionally.

One of the things I enjoy most about personalized photo sessions is adapting the experience to what matters most to the people in front of my camera. No two trips are exactly the same, and the photographs shouldn't be either.

Rather than focusing on a single location, we spent the session exploring different parts of Amsterdam together. We walked along the canals, stopped at beautiful corners of the city, shared local recommendations, and took time to enjoy the experience rather than rushing from one photograph to the next.

Many visitors arrive with a list of places they would like to see. Others want photographs that feel natural and reflect how they actually experienced the city. My goal is always to find a balance between the two. What I remember most from this session is the positive energy throughout the day. There was plenty of laughter, curiosity, and excitement about exploring Amsterdam together. The photographs became a record of more than one relationship and more than one purpose for traveling.

Yes, in many cases they can. Some visitors would like photographs with their partner, individual portraits, professional images, or family photographs during the same session. When that happens, we simply plan the session around those priorities and divide the available time intentionally.

The key is understanding what matters most before we begin. By discussing goals in advance, we can create a route and a photography experience that reflects the purpose of the trip while keeping the session relaxed and enjoyable.

Every session is different, which is one of the reasons I continue to enjoy photographing visitors in Amsterdam year after year.
