Amsterdam in the snow - Erasmuspark

I find it extremely challenging to photograph snowmen. Maybe because I didn’t have snow in my first 40 years of life, and it is still a rare occurrence for me nowadays.

These photos I’m posting today were taken on January 5th, while walking for around 30 minutes in Erasmuspark in Amsterdam West. Discovering new things while photowalking is exciting. The challenge for me is not going for the obvious things. It’s trying to find what cannot be repeated, even if we have a second or third day of snow.

Tomorrow I will try to head to the streets again and maybe send you a new note on my channel to tell you what I’m observing during the walk. I am sending daily audio notes through Instagram, and somehow, they have gotten back the social feeling that social media had before. This is the first letter written first in paper, and then turned into an audio for the Instagram channel. I used to love sending handwritten letters; it feels authentic to what I prefer to share.

Enjoy this set, they are different from what I usually show, so let me know what you think. And tomorrow, if it’s possible for you, go outside, find new things, and photograph them.

You are the one who makes things magical by doing them.

Until next time from Amsterdam.
