Can 20 Minutes Be Enough for Beautiful Photos at The Tulip Barn?

"Simple and candid photos... It's our 11th wedding anniversary. We want to capture the memory of the day."

Not every photo session follows one of my regular collections. Every now and then, I receive a request that doesn't quite fit my standard offerings but is still worth making happen. This anniversary session was one of those rare exceptions.

The couple was visiting The Tulip Barn during one of the busiest weekends of the season. They only had a small window of time available and contacted me shortly before their visit. By chance, I had a gap between two sessions that day, so I created a custom option for them.

This isn't something I normally offer, and most of the time my schedule simply wouldn't allow it. But when everything aligns, I'm always happy to see whether we can make it work. We had less than twenty minutes together, and that also changes the way I photograph.

During a longer session, we have time to walk, chat, build trust, and let the photographs become increasingly natural as people relax. In a very short session, that process has to happen much faster. I usually guide a little more, helping couples with simple poses while still looking for genuine smiles and natural interactions.

Knowing we had limited time, I stayed close to the most beautiful areas instead of walking through the entire gardens. Every minute was spent photographing rather than moving from one location to another.

The result was a colourful gallery celebrating eleven years of marriage, created during one of the busiest moments of tulip season.

One thing I'd like future visitors to know is that this isn't a service that can be booked in advance. It only becomes possible on rare occasions when I happen to have a small opening between existing sessions, and even then, I can't promise availability.
