A Surprise Proposal at Tulip Experience Amsterdam and Keukenhof

"Happy, loving couple excited to travel. We just want to catch the perfect moment."

This session began in a way that had never happened to me before. She found my website first, and told her partner that she wanted to book a photo session during their trip to the Netherlands and even sent him the link to my website.

His response changed everything. Instead of simply booking a couple's session, he contacted me privately and said he wanted to turn it into a surprise proposal. From that moment on, we were planning together.

The booking was confirmed in less than a day, and I immediately started scouting locations, recording videos, and preparing everything he needed so that, when the time came, he could focus on one thing only: asking the question.

Because they both already knew they were having a photo session, there was no need for me to hide. That gave us much more freedom to create an experience rather than simply waiting for one moment. After reading everything he shared about them, I knew exactly what I wanted them to experience.

Instead of choosing endless rows of tulips, I suggested combining two places that complement each other beautifully. We began at Tulip Experience Amsterdam, where the colourful rows of tulips create the iconic Dutch landscape that so many visitors dream of seeing. Later, we continued at Keukenhof, where carefully designed gardens, winding paths, mature trees and millions of flowers create a completely different atmosphere. Together, they tell two sides of the Dutch tulip season.

As soon as we arrived, the excitement started to build. He became increasingly nervous and, before we even reached the location we had originally discussed, he saw his moment, and sometimes that's exactly what happens: when you know it's the right moment, you simply can't wait any longer. He got down on one knee, she was completely surprised, and within seconds there were tears, laughter, and one very happy "yes."

Those are the moments no amount of planning can create, as planning simply makes sure I'm ready when they happen.

After the proposal, we spent the rest of the session exploring together, without the nerves; everything became lighter. They laughed, admired the gardens, celebrated their engagement and simply enjoyed being together.

One thing I love about combining Tulip Experience Amsterdam with Keukenhof is that each location offers something completely different. One showcases the famous Dutch tulip fields, while the other surrounds you with beautifully designed gardens full of colour, texture and variety.

For couples who want to experience both, it creates a wonderful way to celebrate not only an engagement, but also their time together in the Netherlands.
